Descriptor of Research

My lab is focused on the developmental origins hypothesis in understanding how parental diet impacts non-alcoholic fatty liver disease risk in the offspring. We utilize mouse models to dissect the mechanisms behind changes in bile acid metabolism and liver disease progression in offspring exposed to maternal and paternal obesity. We are also studying the role of vertical transmission of the maternal microbiome to offspring in development of metabolic liver disease.
