Descriptor of Research

Our laboratory focuses on cell clearance in the body and turnover of cells in various tissues, and their consequences to homeostasis and disease. While studying molecules expressed on dying cells, we have recently become interested in the role of apoptosis associated lipids during adipocyte differentiation. We have defined some new pathways and we plan to explore this further in the context of both adipocyte death and differentiation. As part of this, we are particularly interested in tracking the metabolic changes in the adipocytes during the various manipulations.
