Description of Research
We are interested in the pharmacogenomics of commonly prescribed medications. Amongst this list includes the bisphosphonates, biguanides, statins, antidepressants and antipsychotics. Each of these drug classes have different on-target and off-target effects on metabolism across organ systems. These phenotypic consequences can vary dramatically in people. We are interested in dissecting these mechanisms using both genomics and metabolomics in collaboration with several members of the DRC and the DRC core facilities.
