My laboratory is interested in understanding how macrophage mediated inflammation regulates pathologic neovascularization in the eye, a phenotype seen in diabetic retinopathy. We are also involved in numerous clinical trials designed to investigate new therapeutic modalities in the treatment of diabetic macular edema as well as proliferative diabetic retinopathy.
